On Saturday, May 10th, over 80 Grant County Middle School band students traveled to Ryle High School to participate in the annual KMEA Solo and Ensemble event.
Each of these students performed either a solo or an ensemble for a judge. Out of several middle school programs, our middle school had the most students to participate and received the most Distinguished Ratings overall.
Of the 46 groups that performed, 35 received a Distinguished Rating, 8 received a Proficient and 3 received an Apprentice. With those results, we came away with a percentage of 76% Distinguished.
This is a big accomplishment for our kids and for our band program!
