Thursday,
March 18th:
High School members come to 7th
grade band class to watch marching band video and talk about the
marching band.
Friday,
March 19th:
Freshman WOODWINDS only, rehearsal
at the high school with Mrs. Owens, 3:45-4:45 p.m.
On all Friday
afternoons, Clayton Tipton and Zach Schwartz (two
high school trombone and baritone players) will be coming to the
middle school to give FREE trombone and baritone lessons! I
strongly encourage ALL 6th, 7th and 8th grade low brass players
to stay after school until 4:30 p.m. to work with them.

Spring Break, March 27th-April 3rd
- During spring break this year,
students will be putting Mrs. Owens to work!! Every middle
school band student will receive a practice log. For every hour
they practice, I must walk/run a mile on the treadmill! I will
count up every hour that is practiced over the break, verify all
parent signatures and then will walk that many miles on the
treadmill!! In order to get my students to practice over the
break, they will have a chance to TORTURE Mrs. Owens! Be
looking for those practice logs!
And yes... I have to do all the
miles all at one time and with Mr. Owens as my witness!
Middle School Concert Festival:
7th and 8th grade only. The actual event will either be May
20th or 21st during the school day. I will let you know as soon
as I know. The following is a list of after school rehearsals
for all 7th, 8th and Freshmen band members to prepare for middle
school concert festival.

Kings Island: May 22nd:
This is an all day reward trip for all middle school
band members (6th-8th grade) who have an A in band by May 1st.
More information coming at a later date.
Marching Band Conditioning:
This is for all marching band students (mandatory) for
the 2010-2011 marching season. Friday, May 7th 3:30-4:30
p.m. and Friday, May 14th 3:30-4:30 p.m., both at Grant County
High School
Spring Concert
(for all 6th, 7th and 8th grade bands- as well as high school
band): Sunday, May 16th, at Grant County High School, concert
begins at 3:00 p.m.
