Here is a quick glance of the upcoming events for the spring semester!

… including concerts, fundraisers and rehearsals!

1.) Don’t forget! PEP BAND TONIGHT! - January 17, 2012

2.) Grant County Middle School Band -Play-A-Thon (only 6th and 7th grade bands)

6^th Grade Play-A-Thon- Monday, February 6^th, 4:00-5:30 pm

Snow Date: Friday, February 17^th, 4:00-5:30 pm

7^th Grade Play-A-Thon- Monday, February 27^th from 3:30-5:30

Snow Date: Friday, March 2^nd from 3:30-5:30

3.) 6^th and 7^th Grade Band Concert, 7:00pm at GCHS (showcasing the music they will perform for assessment on March 6^th and 7^th)

4.) 6^th Grade After School Rehearsal- Monday, March 5^th, 3:30-4:30 p.m.

5.) 6^th Grade Band- KMEA (Kentucky Music Educators Association) at NKU. Tuesday, March 6^th - More details to come later but we will leave school around 12:30 p.m. and return around 6:00 p.m.

6.) 7^th Grade Band- KMEA (Kentucky Music Educators Association) at NKU. Wednesday, March 7^th - More details to come later but we will leave school around 8:30 a.m. and return at approximately 2:00 p.m.

7.) Northern Kentucky Select Band- March 8^th, 9^th and 10^th.

8.) Middle School Pizza/Movie Night- Friday, March 16^th at GCHS, in auditorium

9.) 6^th Grade Spring Concert- Tuesday, April 24^th, 7:00 p.m. at GCHS

10.) 7^th and 8^th Grade Spring Concert- Thursday, May 17^th, 7:00 p.m. in GCHS gymnasium

11.) Band Banquet- Friday, May 11^th, GCHS

12.) Kings Island Trip- (fundraiser reward) Saturday, May 12^th – tentative date for Kings Island Trip (waiting to see how many snow days we have and when school will let out for the summer)

This does not include…

1.) Chamber Ensemble Concert for the 8^th graders and the high school students combined. As soon as I have that date, I’ll send that to you!

2.) Also, in March we will be selling Butterbraids in order to finish the selling requirements to be able to go on the Kings Island trip in May

3.) 2012 Marching Band meetings and information will be sent out in February! Mr. Owens said to go ahead and tell you that the season will begin at the beginning of July and end the second week of November. If you are interested but are planning summer vacations, please DO NOT schedule those between July and November. June is the best month for vacations!

4.) Spirit Wear! Students will be getting a selection of GCMS Band Spirit wear in which they can choose to purchase and wear throughout the year. These make great gifts for parents, grandparents and family members!
